Modern Warfare 2

Modern Warfare 2 looks like it will be one of the biggest games of 2009. Already it has made 14 million people part with their money. The sequel to the massive game Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare, although being created by a new studio has been eagerly awaited by millions across the planet.

This game looks terrific with stunning animation and graphics as seen in the trailers. This could well be one of the biggest games for the next couple of years. The multiplayer has not only been modified it has been totally written again from scratch. This will hopefully bring about some major improvements, but it has yet to be seen. When asked how this game will compare to others this year the answer was simply "it wont!" No other game has received this much hype and attention by fans. No sequel of a game has ever seen this many pre-orders and with a month left to go before its official launch it could well hit a couple million more.

Features to look out for in the game include customized kill streaks. Which looks insane! People who played COD 4 will remember how when they achieved 7 kills they were rewarded with the ability to call in a helicopter. This time however when the player has achieved a set amount of kills he will be able to call in and control his copter. Although one will first have to find a good place to hide one's body as you can still be killed while flying. This does not stop you using your copter it simply shows up as a death against your name.

Newer weapons will hopefully bring about more exciting gameplay. Although how it could be more exciting than Call Of Duty 4 is yet to be seen but from what we have seen so far it will be highly likely that Modern Warfare 2 will be a game that every gamer will play for along time.

Other additions to the game include vehicles! Although utilized in Call of Duty 5 they had no-where near the effect they will seem to have in MW2. Snow-mobiles and trucks will be available for your character to quickly return into the thick of combat.

From what we have seen so far we give Modern Warfare 2

9.5/10

Call of Duty Modern Warfare

Call of Duty 4 Received a multitude of awards for its flinch action gameplay. Just where Call of Duty 4 is flawed is hard to tell. For many it is the perfect game. Otherwise why would it still be so popular 2 years on, and not only that there is a sequel to be had out of this game too!

Its hard to believe that this game wasn't even supposed to be set in our time. It was meant to be yet another cliched WW2 fps. Thank god it wasn't is all I can say. On my part I thoroughly enjoy playing online. Online is the main reason for this games success. The customization of your online character has created the layout for a game which is always fresh and interesting. Different perks can really help you out in different situations. These perks range from things like Iron Lungs - Hold your breath longer when sniping. to martydom which drops a grenade when you die. These perks help out everyone. If you chose sniper then go for Iron Lungs etc.. And there is always something to do in the game, you can spend hours on the game without realising how time is flying by.

Trying to raise your current Kill/Death ratio is one of the big motivators for myself and the team here at GC. Trying to beat your Kill Streak is also a major challenge that appeals to a lot of players.

There is a large selection of guns to unlock make leveling up to 55 a fun adventure where you get to try your hand at all the guns on the way. Finding out your strengths and your weaknesses as you go along is great fun!

However the missions presented to you are both fun and challenging. The missions are, to say the least immersive and take you on a journey which keeps you enthralled to the very end.

One of my gripes about the online mode is that the respawns can be pretty poor at times. T

If there could be a game that captures this one in essence but brings so much more to the table then it is going to be Modern Warfare 2. In less than a months time there is going to be a huge rush of people all going onto Modern Warfare 2's online mode and only then will we know if the sequel is going to be better than the original. I mean it is only on rare occasions that such an attrocity ever happens but this could definitely be one of the rare occasions.

Gamer Score : 9.3/10

Final Thoughts: This game is bordering on being perfect but a few flaws prevent it from getting the top score.
